Position Overview
You will work closely with the product, design, delivery, clinical analytics, customer success and sales within Proximie, validating ideas to create actionable insights from data that improve surgical outcomes and empower better decision making within our hospital and medical device customers.
To do this you will:
- Craft real-time data ingestion and processing; organizing and making queryable large datasets of media (streaming data) and collected structured data.
- Carefully selecting and refining storage formats and mechanisms to optimize insight generation and data driven surgical improvements.
- Select tools (machine learning, quantitative analytics etc.) and process enhancements needed to create actionable insights from Proximie and partner datasets.
- Define and implement a comprehensive data hygiene programme ensuring consistent data accuracy and reliability from potentially noisy data sources.
By using your skills in:
- Software engineering and cloud architecture (AWS) practices to create and sustain a scalable data pipeline and processing capability, including database, cloud engineering, parallel processing, data ingestion, error correction and cloud hosted algorithmic processing.
- Applying common machine learning techniques, including ground truth labelling, model training, testing and deployment.
- Creating a sustainable technical ecosystem to deal with processing of very large media data including video, audio and 2D graphics.
- Supporting product and commercial teams in the advocating the appropriate use of data to drive improvement in clinical outcomes.
- Prudently and confidently engineering to data regulation requirements include GDPR and HIPAA.
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6+ years’ experience with Data Engineering with experience developing and supporting with data lakes, warehouses or preferably even a data lakehouse on AWS.
- Deep experience with data pipelines.
- Deep knowledge and experience across a variety of AWS products such as S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Aurora, or other databases.
- Deep knowledge and experience with data visualization.
- Able to work as a team to deliver against requirements in a collaborative and agile way.
- Ability to communicate across teams to deliver the best outcome for all.
Nice To Have
- Certification from a major cloud provider, ideally AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or higher).
- Experience working in a regulated environment, especially in data handling while staying compliant with HIPAA, GDPR and related frameworks.
